The College Plan

Any number of issues could arise when a student goes off to college. Once a child is 18 years of age, parents lose the ability to make medical and financial decisions or obtain grades and disciplinary information from the child’s school. So what does this mean for you and your family?

If your student would like you to continue to be involved in those important decisions, they would need to complete legal documents that would allow you to intercede on their behalf. The College Plan includes health care directive documents that include a Living Will and a Health Care Power of Attorney. This plan also includes a Durable Power of Attorney for financial purposes.
